Robotic Coding Class Established in The School of Ahlat Village

A Robotic coding class has been established in Güzelsu Secondary School in Ahlat district of Bitlis. Within the scope of the Journey to the Digital World Project, a classroom consisting of 10 computers was created for the secondary school in Güzelsu Village with the cooperation of Bitlis Eren University (BEÜ), Bitlis Provincial Directorate of National Education and a technology company. Opening the class, BEU Rector Prof. Dr. Necmettin Elmastaş, Bitlis Provincial Director of National Education Mehmet Emin Korkmaz and his companions received information about the work from the officials. Elmastaş told reporters that they created a coding class at the school in Güzelsu village as part of the Journey to the Digital World Project.

Noting that they developed this project with Bitlis Eren University, Provincial Directorate of National Education and SAMM company, Elmaştaş said:

“Today, a laboratory consisting of 10 computers has been created. Here, I hope our students will benefit by connecting to the digital world. They will use this digital world for their education and careers. We do not want to be an introverted university. We act with National Education and other institutions. You do not contribute to any kind of city. In this sense, our joint work with other institutions will continue.”

Korkmaz stated that there are over 500 students, 38 teachers and 4 administrators in the village and said:

“In the robotic coding workshop, students will first draw what they think and then create works with a 3D printer. We will watch the works of our students together in the coming period. Thank you to everyone who contributed.”

BEU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ayhan Yılmaz and Ahlat District Director of National Education Mutluk Özden and the officials of the technology company that set up the classroom attended.
